HOW THEY'RE MADE...
Every Mr Yen paper cut is hand drawn, scanned into the computer, manipulated into a digital template design, then each template is individually hand cut with a surgical scalpel by me (Jonathan). Even though every paper cut is created using a digital template, every single paper cut is unique and individual as hand cutting every piece with a scalpel ensures that every paper cut has its own individual quirks and character.
I find my inspiration from piles of leaves, twigs, birds nests and tiny pieces of nature like pine cones, seed pods and flowers. I feel that hand cut paper cut pieces have a special something about them that makes each unique design a character in itself. I love paper artwork in all its many variations and I don't see laser cut pieces as inferior as they still have a very tactile and delicate quality, but I will always prefer to create your design hand cut over machine cut - every time!. I think that the human element is evident in every hand cut Mr Yen paper piece, with every curve and angle having a very organic feel.

Mr Yen gift wrapping will consist of your paper cut order being wrapped just like every other order - using delicate black tissue paper and gold ribbon...but this is then placed on a nest of shredded gold paper and encased in a luxurious black box, lined with a quality white paper which is sure to leave a lasting impression! Each gift wrapped Mr Yen paper cut also includes a hand written note for the recipient, you just need to leave the message you would like to be written when placing your order.
All paper cut orders are created individually by hand, by me and me alone once your order is placed. This means that your order can take some time to be created, but each item has a creation time detailed within the items listing. This creation time varies between each product, but if you need your paper cut creating quickly for a deadline or specific date (such as a birthday or anniversary) this can be done, but will incur a futher cost (which depends on the item you would like to purchase).
Depending on the size, detail and intricacy of your order/design and an estimated dispatch date will be included in your order confirmation email. All printed greeting card orders will be posted out within a week (seven business days) All items within the UK are sent out using Royal Mail and all items sent outside of the UK are sent using Royal Mail Airmail. If you require a signed for service, you will need to email me for a revised price for your order as all Mr Yen shipping is FREE, unless you request a signed for service.
* Return goods appropriately packaged. The cost of return postage will be at your expense unless the goods are faulty.
* Include your full contact details and the reason for return.
* Obtain proof of postage.
* Refunds or exchanges will be made to you within 28 days of receipt of the returned goods.
* Refunds will be made to your credit or debit card only.
* Custom designs can’t be refunded for obvious reasons.

PERSONALISED SILHOUETTES
If you are interested in purchasing a personalised silhouette, I will need a photograph of the person you would like the silhouette to be of. The best way to get a great photograph for a paper cut silhouette is to photograph the person (your son/daughter/partner) sideways on to achieve a profile image. If the person has long hair, this looks best tied up as much as possible, as this creates a more balanced silhouette image. CUSTOM PAPER CUTS

SIZES
All paper cut pieces in the Mr Yen shop are cut using 180gsm Daler Rowney Canford paper and are usually A4 in size. An A4 piece of paper translates to 210mm x 297mm or 21cm x 29.7cm (roughy 8" x 11") Every paper cut is created using Daler Rowney Canford paper and shouldn't fade, but continued exposure to sunlight might affect the colour of the paper.MOUNTING AND FRAMING
To mount your new Mr Yen paper cut to look its best, I recommend placing a thick, flat, piece of quality plain paper to show the texture and design of your delicate new piece. All Mr Yen paper cut pieces will fit into standard, off the shelf frames and you can find simple and stylish frames from IKEA for reasonable prices (look for the RIBBA Series).PACKAGING
Every Mr Yen paper cut is placed between two pieces of sturdy card before being meticulously wrapped using delicate black tissue paper, mettalic gold tape and finished with gold ribbon.
